The app DOES NOT automatically fetch the temperature and dew point from the nearest official reporting station.The formula for the apparent temperature is the one used by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and is a more realistic measure of the "feels like" temperature than the more commonly used heat index.
The apparent temperature during cold weather is similar but not identical to the more commonly used wind chill factor.
The formula for the heat index is the one used by the U.S.
National Weather Service, as is the one used to calculate the wind chill.
